New Korean Ambassador presents letter of credence to the President of Dominica

Dominica’s Head of State, His Excellency Dr. Nicholas Liverpool on Wednesday, 14th January, 2009 welcomed the new Korean Ambassador to Dominica, His Excellency Kang Sung-Zu.

In accepting the letter of credence from His Excellency, Kang Sung-Zu, President Liverpool told the Ambassador that he had no doubt that he will continue the work of his predecessors in strengthening the bonds of fruitful and cordial relations and cooperation which already exists between Dominica and the Republic of Korea.

Dr. Liverpool went on record stating his expectation with the new Ambassador that, “It may be possible to explore increased training and technical assistance in the wide expertise which your country possesses in the field of Information and Communication Technology.”

Dr. Liverpool took the opportunity to express thanks to the Korean Ambassador for assistance given to Dominica by his country.

“I take this opportunity to express the appreciation of the Government and people of Dominica for the donation of material and equipment which we have received from Korea’s Annual Assistance Programme. I recognise the potential of the programme as an effective means of complimenting our nation growth effort. I am also aware that a number of Dominican nationals have also benefited from training opportunities and short courses so generously offered by your Government.”

President Liverpool pledged Dominica’s continued cooperation with the Government of Korea both locally and internationally.
